Licensing Program Analyst, Luis J. Gomez met with Vice Principal, Esther Adames and EED Clerk, Patricia Santana. The purpose of the inspection was explained and is for an unannounced annual inspection. This is a preschool program, which operated at Bryant Elementary School. Preschool program utilizes three classrooms: Classroom #1, Classroom #2, Classroom #3 and an Outdoor Play Area. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 7:30am- 5:30pm. Classroom #1 operates Monday – Friday, 9:30am- 1:30pm. The preschool program is a, 12 month/ year around program. Present is the Vice Principal and 8 staff supervising 39 children. Facility is operating within capacity limits of the license. LPA Gomez inspected facility with the Vice Principal for health and safety hazards.

At 8:25am on February 11, 2020, LPA inspected Classroom #1, Classroom #2 and Classroom #3. Classrooms are clean, organized and have age appropriate toys, art supplies and books for the children. Each classroom is equipped with individualized children's cubbies and child-size tables and chairs for snack and activities. Classrooms have a sinks and cabinets for extra storage. Napping cots are available for children and located in the classrooms. Per Vice Principal, blankets are taken home by the families to be washed weekly. The children’s bathroom, located in each rooms, is maintained clean with adequate supplies for the children. Staff uses separate restroom located in the facility hallway. LPA observed all trash cans and outlets are properly covered. There is acceptable ventilation and natural lighting throughout the facility. LPA Gomez inspected the children’s medication in classroom #3. LPA observed all children’s medication inspected is current. All cleaning supplies, detergents and toxins are kept inaccessible to children. Each classroom has a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and a fully charged fire extinguishers (2A:60BC) located in the hallway. First aid kits and emergency disaster supplies are available in each classroom.

At 8:50am on February 11, 2020, LPA inspected the facility the Outdoor Play Area and Facility Kitchen. LPA observed outdoor play yard is completely enclosed and gated. The outdoor play yard is kept clean and free of debris. At 8:52am on February 11, 2020, LPA Gomez observed a mouse trap, located in the outdoor play yard, accessible to the preschool children. Facility kitchen, located in the multi-use room, is maintained clean. Appliances, freezers and refrigerators on-site within proper temperature and logged daily. Program serves all daily snack and meals for children in care.

During today’s inspection five children files were reviewed. Per Vice Principal, facility personnel files are maintained at an off-site location. Staff's CPR/ 1st aid certification is current expiring: 09/2020. Emergency drills are conducted at the facility, with the last drill done on: 2/10/2020, properly logged. All the required licensing information and outdoor space waiver properly is properly posted in the facility hallway.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During inspection,


· Director was reminded, as of September 1, 2016, all Staff and Volunteers must provide proof of immunization against pertussis, measles, and influenza, or qualifies for an exemption, pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662.
· Director was reminded about Mandated Reporter training available on CCLD website. Training must be completed every 2 years. Training can be taken online at www.mandatedreporterca.com
· Director was reminded about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.
