Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rodriguez with Lead Teacher Elizabeth Lyon for an annual required one year inspection today at this facility. The purpose of the visit was explained. The center is a preschool program operates on a functioning school site of Edward Robinson Taylor within the SFUSD. The preschool program uses bungalows 1 and 2, cafeteria, and the own outdoor play yard. Present today is 12 children and 4 staff. The center meets staff to child ratio on this day. Sign-in sheets are kept outside the classrooms by the door where people walk in.

At 12:30pm LPA inspected the daycare area. There are no bodies of water on the premises. All toxins, cleaning solutions and other materials are inaccessible. Per Elizabeth, there are no firearms or weapons at the center. Bathrooms were inspected for health and safety. Children's toilets and sinks are appropriate in size and height for children. All furniture and equipment is in good repair. All solid waste storage containers had secure fitting lids. The center has a variety of age appropriate toys and materials for children are available in the classroom. Napping equipment is available for children and stored in accordance with the regulations. The center provides the cots while the parents provide the blankets. Medications are stored out reach of the children. The center provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children. Food is stored within regulation guidelines. First aid supplies are available in each classroom. The center has a functioning fire alarm system. The center has at least one functioning carbon monoxide detectors installed. A fully charged fire extinguisher is available in each of the classrooms. The facility has posted the License, Menus, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan and Waivers. Fire drills are conducted in conjunction with the elementary school.

The center has one large play area outside their front entrance door. The outdoor area is fenced for supervision. The play structure is in good condition and appears to be age appropriate. Foam cushioning is used for cushioning under climbing structures and slides. The center has other outdoor equipment that is in good working condition. LPA observed drinking water available for the children to use.

At 1:10pm LPA conducted file reviews at the center. Staff files were reviewed on this date. Staff files were found to be complete with all required forms and documentation of education units/permits. Staff are fingerprinted and cleared for work through the school district. At least one staff member on site has current CPR/Frist Aid certification. Children's files were reviewed and found to be complete.

Lead Teacher is aware that as of January 1, 2018 all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPA observed the completion certificate in the staff files.

LPA discussed the effects of lead exposure with the Lead Teacher and provided a handout about lead exposure. The Lead Teacher was informed about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website. LPA encouraged the Lead Teacher to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. Facility can also email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates.

No deficiencies cited today.

This report was reviewed and discussed with Lead Teacher Elizabeth Lyon. A copy of report was provided. Notice of site visit was observed posted.
