Licensing Program Analyst, LPA Yee conducted a required-1 year inspection today. The purpose of the inspection was explained. This is a preschool program with toddler options located at City College of San Francisco. Present at the facility are 5 teachers with 35 preschool children, 1 LabAid (teacher in training), 1 volunteer student. For Toddler options, there are 3 teachers with 10 toddlers children, 3 volunteer students. Days and hours of operation: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am- 4:00 pm, August-end of May.

LPA inspected the daycare areas with the site director, Melissa Serrano. The previous site director retired in June of 2019. The site director for preschool is Melissa Serrano. The site director for the Toddler Options is Sheila Norman. CCL did not receive information on the change of a new site director. LPA advised the facility that in the future, the facility needs to notify the CCL department within 10 days. LPA observed facility has a combination of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors installed. The facility has multiple fully charged fire extinguishers and first aid kit available on site. There is a working telephone at the site. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. The facility has age-appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. The facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have a proper lid on top. The facility has drinking water available for children. Per the director, children's meals are prepared on-site. The menu is posted. The play yard is free of hazards. The play structure is in good repair and free of any loose parts.

At 11 AM, LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed facility has all of the required documents posted. Per the director, the facility conducts the fire and emergency drills every month. LPA reviewed five random children's and 9 teacher's files.

LPA reminded the director that all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPA obtained a current LIC500, LI610 today.

The copy of this report is reviewed and provided to the director. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for the next 30 days.
