Because there were no children present in the facility, files pertaining to the children were not reviewed.
The LPA reviewed the files of the three licensees. All required forms were in the files of the three licensees. Review of the training records shows that the three licensees are current with their Pediatric First Aid / CPR certifications.
The LPA reviewed the facility's emergency drill log. According to Ms. Romanov, the facility's emergency drills have not been carried out because she has not cared for children since February 2022.
Ms. Romanov was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in a licensed childcare facility, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption or transfer their existing clearance or exemption prior to the initial presence in a licensed childcare facility. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed with Ms. Romanov. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The LPA discussed the Safe Sleep regulations and Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep with Ms., Romanov. Webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.The LPA also informed Ms. Romanov of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

No deficiencies were cited today under CCR, Title 22, Div. 12.
A copy of today’s report, and the “Notice of Site Visit”, were given to Janet Romanov. A “Notice of Site Visit” must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with Janet Romanov.
