25 | On 8/29/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Basak conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with the Director, Bushra Alabsi.The purpose of the inspection was explained, and LPA was granted entry. The director, 5 staff and 16 school age children were present during the LPA’s visit. LPA observed the facility was operating within capacity and complied with the staff/child ratio. The facility operates the daycare from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm Monday- Friday.
According to the director, the facility is using a paper sign-in/out system, and LPA observed that all authorized representatives had signed for the day. The facility has a license, and all other required documents are posted and visible to the public. The facility has a functioning telephone.
LPA inspected 1 school age classroom and outdoor playground with the director. LPA observed facility has smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, and 3 fully charged fire extinguishers in size 2A10BC located in multiple areas. LPA verified with the director the facility has an emergency drill log, and the last drill was conducted on 8/19/2024. Per the Director, drills are done twice a month.
LPA observed all cleaning supplies and other chemicals are stored in a locked cabinet and inaccessible to the children. LPA verified the facility has a fully stocked first aid kit available in the classrooms.
According to the director, there is only one child who is allergic to certain foods and LPA observed that the medications were in their original box, updated, included consent forms and properly stored in a locked container.
LPA observed the facility has age-appropriate furniture, play, and educational materials for children in the classroom. The facility floor and rugs are in good condition and free of any hazards.
