Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced increased inspected today. LPA met with the Curriculum Coordinator, Frances Wittman-Rosenzw. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. Per Frances, Site Director, Nika Greenberg was off-site for community relationship today. There were 83 children with 26 staff present. Facility met teacher/child ratio. All staff have fingerprint clearance. Per Frances, 34 children with 6 staff were out on a field trip during the inspection. The facility operation hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5:50pm & Friday from 8:00am to 5:30pm. LPA toured the facility with the Director for health and safety hazard. Facility was clean and orderly. The preschool program are run in rooms: 11 &12 (used to be Pre-K room), 21 to 25; 51, 53, 54, Guild hall, Martin Meyer Reception room and the Rinder Chapel. Per Frances, room 5 (Art room), 20, 55 & 56 A&B are not used by Preschool program temporarily. Each floor has one bathroom available for children's use. There are other rooms available at the facility for children's use, such as the music room, in door multipurpose room and etc. Separated staff bathrooms are available for staffs on the third and fourth floor. Facility had plenty of age appropriate toys, books, sensory tables, children's furniture, & learning equipment, First Aid supplies, and napping equipment available in each classroom. Sick children will be separated from the group and place to the office while waiting for their parents to pick up. The facility provides morning and afternoon snacks only for children. Children bring their own lunch daily. There are outdoor spaces (courtyard) available for children on site by the front entrance. There were some outdoor toys available for children. Those toys are exclusive use when the children there. Staffs bring water pitchers with cups outside for children. Fire and Earthquake drills are done each month and were properly logged. The latest drill is conducted on 11/14/19. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The updated LIC308 and LIC500 were obtained during the inspection. Facility has posted the required forms (ie License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, and Emergency Disaster Plan). LPA also obtained the copy of the current children roster from licensee during the inspection. At lease one staff had current CPR/First Aid training available for review during the inspection. The certificate will expire in 8/2021.
