25 | On Jan 19, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van made an unannounced Annual Random inspection and met with Director, Alycia Moy. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the facility by the Director. Seven teachers and Director were supervising 55 children at the Center. Staff to children ratio were met. The Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7:15 am to 6:00 pm.
LPA and Director inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. There are two large classrooms, the sunflower room, and the Daisy room. Due to COVID, the Sunflower classroom divided into four cohorts; the Ladybug, Dragonfly; Honeybee; and Firefly. The Daisy classroom divided into three cohorts: Orange, Green, and Pink team. Each cohort has a clear plastic vinyl installed to separate them. Sunflower classroom and Daisy classroom each have a bathroom for children with 3 toilets, 1 urinal, and 4 sinks in each. There is another separate bathroom next to the kitchen available for children. A different staff bathroom is available for staff. LPA observed that each child has their cubbies available with their name labeled. Classrooms are in good condition with proper temperature and ventilation and are free of any hazards. All classrooms have age-appropriate toys, furniture, and equipment. Furniture appears steady and in good repair. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in good working condition with proper sanitation in place. All cleaning solutions, poisons, and other dangerous chemicals have been stored in an area inaccessible to children in care. Outdoor play structures are age-appropriate and in good condition. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises. Per Director, there are no firearms or weapons in the Center. The facility has multiple carbon monoxide detectors, a centralized smoke alarm, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone. |
