Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin met with director for this case management visit due to request to increase capacity. San Francisco Fire Department has approved the fire clearance on 2/27/2020 for 125 children. Days and hours of operation vary between: Monday-Friday 8:15AM-5:30PM. Facility will request an outdoor rotation playground waiver, for 3 rotations with a maximum of up to 48 children at a time, to use the outdoor space in scheduled rotations due to insufficient space. Outdoor area is completely fenced with age appropriate play structures. Facility is adequately furnished with age appropriate toys, furniture, equipment, and first aid supplies. There are fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide (CO) detector present. Parents provide the meals for their child; facility provides a morning and afternoon snack. On the main level (first level), there are 3 classrooms, sky room, 6 toilets, and 6 sinks for children's use. Classroom #1 measures 840 square feet; classroom #2 measures 885 square feet; classroom #3 measures 1180 square feet. The Sky Room measures 1300 square feet. Based on total measurements for first level classrooms, Sky Room, toilets, and sinks, the first level can accommodate up to 90 children. On the second level, there are 3 classrooms, 7 toilets, and 6 sinks for children's use. Classroom #4 measures 950 square feet; classroom #5 measures 940 square feet; classroom #6 measures 1045 square feet. Based on total measurements for second level classrooms, toilets, and sinks, the second level can accommodate up to 83 children. Outdoor play space measured and inspected for health and safety hazards. Outdoor activity spaces are enclosed by fences and surfaces are free of hazards. Facility uses soft rubber for underneath play structures. Outdoor play area measures 3600 square feet allowing for 48 children. There is a classroom in a building outside "Yellow Building" which can be used for children. It measures 540 square feet allowing for 15 children. There are 2 toilets and 1 sink available for children's use. See facility sketches and capacity worksheet.

Earthquake/fire drills will be conducted and logged at least once every six months. All the required licensing forms are posted: Notification of Parent's Rights, Earthquake preparedness checklist, and Emergency Disaster Plan. New License reflecting changes will be posted when received.

Prior to licensure:

  • Regional Manager needs to approve the scheduled outdoor rotation playground waiver.


Once the above has been approved, and pending final approval from the Department, licensure will be recommended for 125 children.


This report is reviewed with director and a copy of this report must be made available for public review upon request.

Notice of site visit posted and shall remain posted for 30 days.
