Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the owner/Program Director, Laura Labrado, and 2 staff, and explained the purpose of the inspection to them. There were 6 children with 2 staff present during the inspection. All staff have fingerprint clearance. The facility is a Spanish Immersion Preschool. The facility's operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The center has a total of 3 classrooms. The center has 2 children's bathrooms available. It also has a staff bathroom that is located next to the kitchen. Two classrooms in the back that included an activity area & playroom, and a main classroom in the front. The center also has an outdoor play yard next to the building. The yard is located between the main building and the Site director’s office located in the individual house next to the building. There is a driveway between the center and the play yard. The drive is used as the pathway between the center and the play yard only. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order, the temperature and lighting were adequate, and all toxins and harmful objects were locked or made inaccessible to children. The facility had a mid-size fish tank with fish, and had a tight lid for the children in the main classroom Gate was used at the kitchen entrance to prevent children access to the off-limit area. The facility had plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, water and sand tables, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired for indoor. The facility had first aid supplies available for indoor & outdoor. There was a cabinet in the kitchen to store the medication for children if needed. The facility provides breakfast, & AM/PM snacks to the children; children bring their lunches to the center daily. The facility provides milk and drinking water with cups to the children whenever they need it. Cots and Mats were used for napping. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced next to the center. LPA also observed plenty of age-appropriate outdoor toys, play house, Caterpillar Tunnel, sand and water tables available for children. The facility installed the rubber mat as the soft cushioning to the ground to prevent injury. The facility has a little garden next to the site director's office, it is an off-limit area. The children cannot access that area. There was a waiver for a play yard that was no more than 7 children at one time. Children don’t use the deck in the back of the center. There was a door access to the deck from one of the classrooms that was next to the kitchen in the back. The door was locked, so the children couldn't access the deck. First aid supplies were available in the center. All staff had current CPR/First Aid training, which will expire on 9/2025. 4/2025 & 12/2025, & Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training that will expire in 8/2025 & 9/2025. The facility conducts the disaster drill at least 2 times a year and logs. The facility had no guns, weapons, or pets in the center. Per Site Director, there were no children on special medication. LPA reviewed the children and staff files, and obtained a copy of the current children roster from the licensee during the inspection. The facility took the Lead Water Test and passed the test on 5/13/2023. Sign in/out was inspected during the inspection.
