Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced required inspection today. LPA met with the Assistant Site Director, Linda Marcelo, and Kristina kanios who is a teacher/Frank's daughter. The purpose of the inspection was explained to them. There were 127 children with 15 staff present. The program is operated in a functioning school site SFUSD-Claire Lilienthal Elementary School. Day care areas are 1 to 14 classrooms, auditorium, library, lower courtyard, upper yard and kitchen area. Per Linda, the facility uses Room #1, #4, #6, #8 , #14(multi-purpose), Auditorium, Library, Lower courtyard, and upper yard recently. The rest of the classrooms may be used whenever they need. The operation hours of the facility are Monday to Friday from 1:50pm to 6 PM. LPA toured and inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The classrooms were clean and in order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were either locked or made inaccessible to the children. LPA didn't observe any harmful objects in the cabinets or drawers in each classroom. The facility provides snacks to the children, but the children may bring their own snack if necessary. Children also bring their own cup for the Drinking water that is available from the built-in water dispenser by the facility's main office. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books, learning material & equipment and children's furniture available in each classroom. First AId supplies were available in each classroom or yards The outdoor play yards were completely fenced. There was a play structure with soft cushioning underneath available in the upper yard. There were some outdoor toys available for children in both yards, Per Linda, there were no guns and weapons on site. There were couple fish tanks with tide lid in 3 classrooms. There were 6 children's bathroom available for the children on site. There was a separate staff bathroom available, Per Linda, there were some children on special medication. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services - IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children's, personnel, and administrative record. All required postings were posted. Fire drill is conducted monthly. The latest drill was conducted in January, 2020. At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training certificate availalbe for review during the inspection. It will be expired in 8/2021. LPA reviewed the Child Abuse Mandated Report Training (AB1207) for some of the staff during the inspection. LPA reviewed the children files and roster during the inspection. LPA also obtained the copy of the roster from licensee during the inspection.
