25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted a collaboration case management with an annual random inspection today, and met with the paraprofessional, Reina Cortez. The purpose of the inspection was explained and granted entry to the facility by the staff. This facility is a preschool program that operates in the SFUSD Dolores Huerta Elementary School in room C205. Days and hours operations are Monday - Friday 8:30 am-2:50 pm. Present today are 3 teachers supervising 15 children. Staff to children ratio are met.
LPA, along with the Paraprofessional, inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility is in good repair and free of any hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. A variety of age-appropriate toys and learning materials for children are available in the classroom. There are no pools, spas, or other bodies of water at the facility. The facility has a smoke detector, fully charged fire extinguishers, and a working telephone at the facility. LPA observed all cleaning solutions, poisons, and other chemicals that are dangerous to children stored in a locked cabinet. Per the Para, the center provides breakfast and lunch for children. All the bathrooms, toilets, and sinks are clean and well sanitized. There is a total of 2 toilets, 2 sinks in the facility. There is a separate bathroom available to staff. The facility has a water filter pitcher available for children to use outdoor and indoor. The children also brought their own water bottles from home. The outside play area is completely fenced, clean, and in good repair. The playground is free of hazardous materials, and the play equipment is age-appropriate and safe. Climbing structures are securely anchored, free of any loose parts, and have sufficient amounts of cushioning floor to prevent any fall injuries. Per the Para, the sandbox is inspected daily. LPA did not observe any bodies of water in the outdoor area. |
