25 | On 6/26/2024 at 8:30AM., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luis Gomez met with Director, Maria Villalobos. The purpose of today's inspection was explained and was for an Unannounced, Annual Random inspection. Facility is licensed preschool program with toddler option. Present was the director and 8 staff supervising 21 children. Children present have been signed in by Guardians. Personnel have criminal record clearances on file. The program utilizes three classrooms: Quetzal Classroom (Preschool, 2- 5 years old); Estrellitas Classroom (Toddler, 1.5- 3 years old); Mariposas Classroom (Toddler, 1.5- 3 years old); and two shared, Outdoor Play Spaces. Outdoor Space Waiver for rotational use was observed during inspection. LPA inspected facility with director for health and safety hazards.
At 8:40AM., LPA observed the following: Classrooms were clean and neat, with age-appropriate materials and supplies available for the children. Walkways and floors were clear of any obstructions. Classrooms were equipped with children tables and chairs, scaled to the proper size. For storage, cubbies are available in each classroom. The children’s bathroom area was observed clean, with fixtures in operating condition. Two diaper changing tables, within arm’s reach of sink, are available for the staff. For disposable of solid waste, trash bins are available with tight-fitting lids. Electrical outlets have been covered.
For scheduled rest/ nap, the facility has cleanable plastic cots. Per staff, napping sheets and blankets are washed every on-site weekly. The classroom had adequate ventilation, lighting, and were a comfortable temperature. Facility has a functioning telephone service; carbon monoxide (CO) detector; smoke detector (Built-in) and fire extinguishers: 3-A:40B:C. The cleaning compounds, detergents, medications, and other items which could pose a danger, have been stored inaccessible to children. (REFER TO 809C, FOR CONT.)
