25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Farhan Bashir-Tariq met with Program Director, Easter Calvit and Executive Assistant, Fatima Sequeira on 8/09/19 for a Case Management Inspection for the Toddler option to be added on to the preschool license. The facility has applied for the capacity of 24 Preschool children and 16 Toddlers with the total capacity of 40. The purpose of the inspection was explained. There were no children present today.
LPA inspected the facility for Health and Safety Hazards and measured the rooms on preschool and toddler side. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water at the facility. Facility has multiple smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, a fully charged fire extinguisher and a working telephone at the site. All the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Furniture is steady and in good repair. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste have proper tight fitted lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. Play yard is free of hazards. All the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There is sufficient amount of soft cushioning under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries.
LPA measured the facility indoor and outdoor space. Room FD1 will be used for the preschool children with the total area of 1072SQft. Based on sqft, facility will be approved to use the room FD1 for 24 preschool children.
Room 2A and 2B will be used for the toddlers, with 8 toddlers in each room. The total area for Room 2A is 355 sqft and Room 2B is 460 Sqft. Based on the measurements , facility will be approved to use the each room for 8 toddlers. Outdoor space is 1354 sqft, which allows the capacity of 18 children at a time. Facility can apply for a waiver for the outdoor space to be used by all the children in care.
