NARRATIVE

Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are 17 children in care with six teachers and the director. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 6 PM. With director, LPAs inspected the day care classrooms and Play yard. LPA observed the facility has smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector on site. There are multiple fully charged fire extinguishers at the facility. Facility has working telephone available. All of the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored in the cabinets with locks in place and are inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility has sufficient amount of matts available. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste and in good repair and have proper lid on top. Food preparation area is free of litter. All of the food is stored adequately to prevent any contamination. Play yard is free of hazards. Play yard has sufficient amount of cushion material under the play structures. Play structures are in good repair and free of any loose parts. Per director, facility staff brings the water bottles to the play while the children play. At 3:40 PM, LPAs reviewed the facility records. LPAs reviewed the present children's and staff's files. LPAs observed facility has record of names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative. Facility has record of each child’s immunization. Multiple staff members has record of valid CPR card in file. LPAs reviewed the educational qualification of all the teachers. See next page for continuation ......................

LPAs reviewed AB 1207 with the director. As of January 1, 2018 all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPAs observed the facility staff has completed the training and certificates are on file. LPAs observed the facility has record of staff's immunization on file.

LPAs reviewed the effects of lead exposure and a hand out was provided. LPA encourages the director to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates.

No deficiencies are cited today. The copy of this report is reviewed and provided to the director. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
