Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok, conducted an announced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Piper Anne Mancasola-Norris, and a helper, and explained the purpose of the inspection to her. All adults had fingerprint clearance. There were 11 children with 2 helpers and a licensee present. The licensee lived in the 2 stories single-family house with her husband. The facility was called " Little Foot Preschool". The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4:45 PM. The daycare areas were the entire lower level including the main playroom, Playroom #1 with an adjacent bathroom, a sunroom, and a backyard. The off-limit areas were the entire upper level, a garage, a small deck next to the sunroom, and a storage room underneath the house. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. The licensee made all the toxins and harmful objects inaccessible to the children. The facility had plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials and equipment, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair. The facility had a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a working telephone, and first aid supplies were available. All electrical outlets were covered. The facility had right amount of cubbies available for the children to store their belongings. The children's bathroom was clean. LPA did not see any toxins and harmful objects access to the children in it. Per Piper, she had no guns & weapons in the house, but she had 2 dogs that were kept in the upper level (off-limit area). The facility provided AM/PM snacks only; the children brought their own lunch and water bottles to the facility daily. The facility provided drinking water in the water filter dispenser for the children to refill their water bottles. Mats were used for napping. There were sliding doors in the sunroom to barricade the children's access to the deck area and the stairway to the backyard. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. The facility had the woodchip as the soft cushioning for the entire ground in the play yard. There was a climbing structure with rubber mats as the extra soft cushioning underneath to prevent injury. There was a Hammock Sensory swing in the tree area, some outdoor toys, and children's furniture that were in good condition, and repairs available. Per Piper, there was a child on special medication. LPA inspected the storage for the medication during the inspection. LPA reviewed the children's and staff files and obtained a copy of the children's roster from the licensee. The facility posted all the required postings. The licensee and the helpers had current CPR/First Aid and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training. The facility had a current Family Child Care Insurance that will expire in 5/2023.
