25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the daycare helpers, Irada Bairamova and Venera Mktrichyan (Licensee's mother), and explained the purpose of the Annual Inspection to them. All adults had fingerprint clearance. The helpers were the primary Russian speakers. LPA communicated with the helpers via Google Translate during the inspection. A helper, Irada, opened the door for the LPA and put the licensee, Marine Kazaryan, on the phone with the LPA. Per the licensee, Marine Kazaryan, she was on her way to a doctor's appointment, so she left the children with a helper and her mother during her absence. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to the licensee and requested her helpers to provide all the required documents LPA needed to review during the inspection while the licensee was not available at home. The facility had 11 children including a toddler with 2 helpers during the inspection. The facility was called LION KING DAYCARE, and the operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The daycare areas were the entire lower level including 2 main play areas, a room (reading room or library), a bathroom, a deck, and a backyard except a garage. The off-limit areas were the entire upper level and a garage. The facility installed a surveillance camera system in the daycare areas. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. The licensee made all the toxins and harmful objects inaccessible to the children. The facility had the right amount of cubbies available for the children to store their belongings in the foyer. The facility had another door to the main daycare areas from the foyer. The licensee put the carpets on the floor in 2 main play areas as soft cushioning to prevent injury. All the electrical outlets and sharp corners were covered & food preparation area was clean and in order. The lower sink cabinet and drawers in the food preparation area were free of harmful objects. The children's bathroom was clean. The lower bathroom sink cabinet was latched. The facility had plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair. The facility had a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working cellular phone and home phone, a working smoke detector, and first aid supplies available at home. The facility provided breakfast, AM/PM snacks, lunch, and dinner to the children. Cots were available for napping. The licensee provided the bedding to the daycare children. The outdoor play areas were completely fenced. A gate was installed at the stairway. The licensee uses the deck and backyard for the daycare. LPA inspected the yard and deck. There were some outdoor toys, ride-on-toys, and children's furniture available for the children. The turf was installed in the yard as the soft cushioning to prevent injury. The facility posted all the required documents.
