25 | Licensing Program Analyst, Luis J. Gomez met with director, Norma Villazana- Price. The purpose of the inspection was explained and is for an unannounced annual inspection. This is a preschool program which operated at the City College of San Francisco: Mission Center. Preschool program utilizes three classrooms: (Red Classroom, Rainbow Classroom, Blue Classroom)Lunchroom, Napping Room and an Outdoor Play Area. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 8:00am- 4:00pm. The preschool program is a 10- month program. Present is the Director and 5 staff supervising 19 children. All children present are properly signed in. Facility is operating within capacity limits of the license on this day. LPA Gomez inspected facility with director for health and safety hazards.
At 12:55pm on February 11, 2020, LPA inspected the Lunchroom, Red Classroom, Rainbow Classroom, Blue classroom and Outdoor Play Area. Classrooms are clean, organized and have age appropriate toys, art supplies and books for the children. Children’s cubbies are in the facility hallway. Classrooms have several child size tables and chairs for snack and activities. Classrooms are equipped with sinks, water fountains and cabinets for extra storage. Napping cots are available for children and located in the napping room. Per Director, blankets are taken home by the families to be washed weekly. The children’s bathrooms, located in each classroom, is maintained clean with adequate supplies for the children. Staff uses separate restroom located in the facility lobby. LPA observed all trash cans and outlets in the classrooms are properly covered. There is acceptable ventilation and natural lighting. During today's inspection, LPA reviewed children’s medication. LPA observed children’s medication inspected is current. LPA inspected outdoor play area for hazards and dangerous conditions. Facility's outdoor play yard is completely enclosed. Facility has installed a rubber padding for added safety. Outdoor play yard is kept clean and free of debris. Children's play structure, located in the outdoor play yard, is securely anchored. All equipment inspected is in good repair and there is sufficient shade available. Sandbox is free of all hazardous foreign materials. Per director, fresh water is readily available with use of water pitchers and cups. Classrooms have a smoke detector/ carbon monoxide detector combo and a fully charged fire extinguishers (2A:10BC) located in the hallway. First aid kits and emergency disaster supplies are available.
