32 | LPAs observed that the facility had posted the required documents. (i.e., license, waivers, notification of parental rights, notification of personal rights, car seat law, emergency disaster plan, and daily activities). Children have access to drinking water via water fountains. Children bring their own water bottles. The staff serves and cooks food for each child. All solid waste storage containers within the Center have a proper tight-fitting cover.
During the inspection, ten random children's records and personnel records were reviewed. The facility has a sign-in/out log with a piece of paper. A review of the facility's records revealed that the names, addresses, and phone numbers of each child's authorized representative are kept on file. In addition, each child's immunization record can be found in their file.
A review of staff records revealed that all staff members have valid CPR and First Aid certifications. LPAs reviewed the director and teachers have the required ECE units. According to the Director, the Center simulates fires and earthquakes monthly. The last fire and earthquake drill were conducted on 3/14/22.
LPAs reminded the director each staff are required to complete a new mandated reporter certificate every two years and basic pest management annually.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
