32 | The toilets and handwashing sinks are functioning well and are properly sanitized. During the inspection, no bodies of water were found on the premises. The outdoor playground area was in good repair and was completely fenced for proper supervision. The outdoor toys were also age-appropriate, well-maintained, and free of any loose parts. The climbing and slide equipment had soft cushions underneath to prevent any potential injuries from accidental falls.
Both children's and personnel records were reviewed. These records showed that the facility had detailed information about each child's authorized representative, including their names, addresses, and telephone numbers. Additionally, the files contain records of each child's immunization, medical assessment, and admission agreement. The staff records indicate that all individuals who require caregiver background checks have undergone criminal records and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. All staff members have valid CPR certifications and Licensing forms on their respective files. However, three staff members' records were missing the mandated reporter training or had expired certificates. In addition, one of the teachers' and Director’s immunization records were not on file or available for review.
The facility had posted the required forms. (i.e., License, Notification of Parent's Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Daily activities). The daily schedule is observed and posted. The Center also has water pitchers available for children indoors and outdoors. All containers for solid waste within the Center have a proper tight-fitting cover.
LPA reminded the Director that as of September 1, 2016. A person may not be employed or volunteer at a childcare facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
