25 | On 9/24/19 at 8:20 A.M., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with Campus Manager, Cristina Nicolosi, for an unannounced annual random inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and was granted entry to the facility by manager. This is a preschool program. There are 5 classrooms in the facility. Present today are 73 children with 10 teachers. Staff to children ratio are met. LPA observed that each classroom has an electronic sign in / out record with full legal signatures from parent or authorized representative. Days and hours of operations are from Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Director Federica Lentini arrived during the inspection
With manager, LPA inspected the day care areas for health and safety hazards. The facility is in good repair, free of any hazards, and has proper temperature and ventilation. Variety of age appropriate toys and learning materials for children are available. Classroom is set up for child care; furniture, equipment, sufficient amount of sleeping mats for children are available. All children's chairs and table have rounded corner. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water at the facility. Cubbies are used to store children's belongings. The restrooms are located each classroom all restroom facilities are clean, in good repair, and maintain adequate supplies. The water temperature is warm. There is a separate staff restroom. The isolation area for an ill child is located in the staff's office. The toilet and sink designated for an ill child is in the staff restroom. Per manager, there are no firearms or weapons at the center. Facility has smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, fully charged fire extinguisher and a working telephone at the site. All cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous stored inaccessible to children.
LPA observed the unused electrical outlets have covers installed. Facility has water fountain, and water pitchers readily available for children. Per manager, this center provides Incidental Medical Service (IMS), LPA reviewed medications storage, and paperwork with manager. Per manager, the center provides snacks, breakfast, and lunch for children. LPA observed the food preparation area is clean, organize, and foods store appropriately.
