25 | On November 17, 2022, at approximately 1:30pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Winnie Ly conducted an Unannounced Required - 1 Year Visit and met with Site Director, Kathleen Jamae Tasker during the visit. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Facility is a part time cooperative preschool program center. The program is divided into a morning and afternoon program. There were 24 children, a Director, 4 staff members and 5 parents present during the visit. Teacher to child ratios were met on this day. The facility has fully charged fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and a carbon monoxide detector that meet the minimum requirements. The facility operates Monday - Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM. The center uses a clip board for parents to sign their children in and out of the facility.
LPA and Site Director inspected the center for Health and Safety Hazards. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water on the premises. Adequate first aid supplies are available. All cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to the children. Currently facility does not have any children that need medication. Per Director, medications are to be stored in lock box inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free from loose, sharp or pointed parts. Children's bathrooms are in working order with adequate supplies.
LPA and Site Director also toured the outdoor play area for Health and Safety Hazards. LPA observed outdoor equipment is in good condition, free from loose, sharp or pointed parts. Last Emergency Drill was conducted on 10/05/2022 and properly logged. Facility provides morning and afternoon snacks to children in care.
A random sample of children's files were reviewed on this day and all children's files were complete. Staff files were also reviewed and found to be complete. At least one staff has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
