25 | On July 9, 2021 at 09:00 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Cowan and Quimbo met with Summer Director Gretchen Stanerson, for a random annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, in the facility are director, 7 staff, and 40 children in care. Facility is operating within the capacity and is in compliance with staff / child ratio on this day. The facility is operating its summer program. Facility operates day care Monday to Friday from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM. Facility is using classes 123, 5, and 7 for the Summer Program.
With director, LPAs inspected the day care rooms and play yard. Smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors were last professionally tested on 8-3-20 and is due for another testing on 8-16-21. LPA obtained documentation of testing. All cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards.
There are first aid supplies available in the classrooms. All bathrooms are in working condition. At 9:40, LPAs and director observed that water in the bathroom of classroom 5 felt too hot. The temperature measured 125 degrees. All storage containers for solid waste have fitted lids. Facility has a sufficient amount of sleeping matts available. Mats are sanitized daily and bedding is washed by parents over the week ends. Each child's bedding is stored properly. Each child brings their own food, and food is stored adequately. Play yard is free of hazards. There is a sufficient amount of cushion material in the play yard to help absorb the impact of falls. There is water available in the yard as well as in the classroom.
