25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with a Site Director, Hui Zhen Li (Jenny), and explained the purpose of the inspection to her. There were 14 children napping with 2 staff upon LPA's arrival. Per Jenny, 2 more staff were on lunch break during the inspection, The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The facility had 2 classrooms (upper and lower classrooms) and an outdoor play area was adjacent to both classrooms. The facility had a locked main gate. Parents had to buzz by the gate before they entered the center. Per Jenny, the lower classroom was closed during the recent school year. The teachers used it as a break room recently. LPA toured and inspected the upper classroom and play yard for health and safety hazard. The facility was clean and in-order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were locked or made inaccessible to children. Right amounts of cubbies were available to children to store their own belongings in the classroom. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, water tables, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repair available in the classroom. Tap water was served in water pitchers with cups in each classroom. There was an adjacent children bathroom in the classroom. The children bathroom was clean and free of dangerous items. The bathroom had 2 toilets, a big sink with 2 faucets, and a child size sink in the classroom available for children. There was a staff bathroom available in the lower classroom. The facility has provided breakfast, lunch, and AM/PM snack. All meals were delivered from the central kitchen to the center daily. The weekly menu was posted in each classroom. All electrical outlets were covered. The outdoor play area was completely fenced. There was plenty of age-appropriate outdoor toys, water table, a big sandbox, and a play structure with soft cushioning underneath. Fire and disaster drills have been conducted monthly and logged. The latest drills were conducted in 2/2023 . First aid supplies were available in the classroom . Per Site Director, there were 2 children on special medication. LPA inspected the storage of the medication and the documents along with the medication, At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training; it will expire in 9/2023. All required postings were posted. LPA inspected the sign in/out sheet during the inspection. LPA also reviewed staff and children files, and obtained a copy of the current children roster during the inspection. All staff in the center have completed the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training. Certificates were reviewed during the inspection.
