25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with the owner, Natella Shtern and Site Director, Rachael Rocha. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to them. There were 47 children with 6 staff present. All adult had fingerprint clearance. The facility was located in the back of the Christian Science Church. The facility entrance was at the church parking lot. The facility's operation hours were Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The facility was granted a Playground waiver allowing the children use it by schedule with no more than 32 children at once. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in-order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. The facility made all toxins and harmful objects inaccessible to the children. The facility has run the preschool program in Room 1 (Explorers), #2 (Adventure), #3 (Navigator), and #4 (Captain - in the back of the chapel). There was a staff bathroom in the back of the chapel. There were 2 children's bathroom with 3 toilets, 1 urinal , and 2 sinks located between Explorers and Adventure classrooms. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, and children's furniture that were in good condition and repaired. The children have brought their own water bottles to school daily, and water Dispensers were available in facility's lobby and Captain classroom available for the children to refill their water bottle whenever it's needed. The facility has provided AM/PM snacks only; the children have brought their own lunch to school daily. The facility had microwaves to warm up the meals for the children in the classrooms & lobby. The facility covered all the electrical outlets in the classrooms. Cubbies with children's names were available for the children to store their personal belongings. Mats were used for napping. Children brought their beddings and stored in an individual bag. Per licensee, there were 4 children on special medication. LPA inspected the storage and paperwork for the medication. The outdoor playground was completely fenced. The facility had a play structure with soft cushioning underneath and ride-on toys available at the playground. Those items were in good condition and repaired. The facility has conducted the fire drill monthly and disaster drill 2 times a year; they properly logged it. The facility posted all the required postings. LPA inspected the sign in/out sheet and reviewed the children's and staff files during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children's roster and Personnel report (LIC 500) from the licensee during the inspection. At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training available in the facility.
