Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Andrea Medlin met with director for this case management visit due to request to increase capacity to 46 children. Facility will merge other existing license (Lic 384002273) into this license since all three classrooms are in the same building; upon new licensure, License 384002273 will be forfeited. There are three separate classrooms: "Elves Corner," Elves Cottage," and "Elves Garden." The "elves cottage" classroom measures 825 square feet allowing for 16 children; the "elves corner" classroom measures 1155 square feet allowing for 22 children; the "elves garden" classroom measures 385 square feet allowing for 11 children. Days and hours of operation: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. The facility has fully charged fire extinguishers that meets the minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in each classroom. Children's bathrooms inspected; all toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. No pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are present. Per staff, there are no firearms or weapons on site. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are inaccessible. Variety of age appropriate toys and materials for children is available. Classrooms are set up for child care and furniture and equipment for children is present. Facility provides snacks; parent's provide meals. Adequate first aid supplies are available. Sick children will be separated from the group while waiting for parents to pick up. Facility maintains an outdoor playground waiver at the Swedenborgian Church located located a few blocks away. There are no changes to the outdoor space. Facility has posted all the required licensing forms in a prominent accessible location. This facility meets the licensing requirements and re-licensure will be recommended for 46 children once fire clearance approval (STD 850) is received.
