Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rodriguez conducted an unannounced random annual inspection today and met with director Bonnie Harris-Tobias. The purpose of inspection was explained. There were 15 preschool children with 5 teachers present during today's inspection.

LPA inspected the indoor and outdoor activity areas and physical plant. LPA observed classrooms, bathroom, and outside play areas. LPA observed an adequate amount of supplies and learning material for the children to play and interact with. The center appears to be clean and orderly, with sufficient lighting and at a comfortable temperature. Furniture, equipment, and toys were observed to be sufficient, age appropriate and in good repair. Program provides meals to the children by the use of an outside vendor named Chefables. Indoor and outdoor water is provided by a pitcher or water and cups or by an outside water jug. Center has all required postings. Emergency Drills are conducted and logged, with last drill conducted on November 15, 2019. Charged fire extinguisher was observed, with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the facility. The outdoor play area is fenced with sufficient cushioning underneath the climbing structures. Cleaning products and Toxins are maintained inaccessible to children. Facility provides IMS at this time. Children's medication are stored in the classroom in locked backpacks, which are made inaccessible to the children. Director is aware that as of January 1, 2018 all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPA observed the completion certificate in the staff files.

LPA discussed the effects of lead exposure with the director and provided a handout about lead exposure. LPA encouraged the director to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. Facility can also email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates. LPA reviewed a sample of staff and children's files. All staff are fingerprint cleared and associated to the center. Staff files have all required forms and documents. Children's files have all required signed assessments and agreements on file.

No deficiencies are cited today. The copy of this report is reviewed and provided to the director. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
