25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Shelley Leshin and Senior Director, Nicole Olsen. The purpose of the inspection was explained to them. There were 29 children with 4 teachers and 2 Directors present upon LPA arrival. The facility's operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 6:00PM. The facility has used electronic sign in/out system that was called "ProCare". Every single parents was assigned an individual code. LPA toured and inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were either locked or made inaccessible to the children. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, art and craft material, sensory tables, and children's furniture. All the items were in good condition and repaired. First Aid supplies were available in the classroom. Sick children will be separated from the group and place in the office with a staff while waiting for their parents to pick up. All electrical outlet were covered. Right amount of cubbies were available for the children to store their own belonging by the main entrance. Barricade was installed at the main entrance and office entrance to prevent children access to the off-limit areas. Children bathroom was clean. It had 2 children size toilets and 2 sinks available for children. Facility had a outdoor play area in the back of the property. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. All sharp corners were covered. Gate was installed at the stairway. There were some of the outdoor toys, play house, water table, and children's furniture available for the children. Soft cushioning was installed to part of the playground to prevent injury. Facility has provided breakfast, afternoon snack and lunch to the children. The facility was a "Nut Free" school. Per Site Director, there were no guns, no weapons, and no pets in the facility. Per Site Director, there were some children on special medication. Cots were used for napping. The parents took the bedding home for washing the end of the week. At least one staff had current CPR:/First Aid training for review during the inspection. All the required postings were posted. All staff have completed the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207). The certificates were reviewed during the inspection. Children and staff files were reviewed during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children roster from the licensee during the inspection. The facility has been conducting the fire & earthquake drills monthly.
