25 | On February 07, 2020 at approximately 8:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Winnie Ly conducted an Unannounced Annual Visit to this family child care home and met with Licensee Tami Trostel. Purpose of visit was explained. Present during the visit were Licensee, Licensee's minor daughter and an assistant caring for 12 children. The Premises is on the second level, there are 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom with Living area, Kitchen, and Dining area. The ground floor consisted of the garage and the backyard.
Day Care Areas are living room, 1 bedroom, bathroom, dining room and the backyard. Off Limit Areas: On the second level; Licensee's bedroom and kitchen with child proof gates to prevent children from entering. On the first floor is the garage. Licensee’s CPR/First Aid expires August 2020. Required Immunization such Pertussis and Measles are on file. All required posting documents are posted and visible.
LPA observed the home is clean orderly and properly ventilated. LPA also observed a 2A10BC Fire extinguisher, operable smoke detectors and carbon monoxide. There are no Fireplace or bodies of water in the home. Electrical outlets have child protective covers in place making them inaccessible to children. Chemical, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items of this nature are made inaccessible to children. Kitchen/Bathroom cabinets/drawers have child protective locks in place making all sharp objects or toxic house hold items inaccessible to children. First aid supplies are available for children. Facility conducts fire drills/earthquake drills on 01/08/2020 and was properly logged. If there was an ill child, staff would separate the child from the group while waiting for a parent to pick them up. Disciplinary policy was discussed with Licensee today. Home has age appropriate toys and equipment available for the children in care.
At approximately 9:15am, LPA and Licensee toured the backyard. No visible hazards were observed during the visit.
At approximately 9:30am, LPA reviewed children's and staff’s files and all files are found up to date.
