25 | On February 14, 2025 at approximately 11:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ly conducted an Unannounced Annual Visit and met with Site Director, Judy Glaeser during the visit. Purpose of the inspection was explained. There were 32 children and 5 staff including the Director present during the visit. Teacher to child ratios were met on this day. The facility has fully charged fire extinguishers that meet the minimum requirements, smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide detector. Facility uses clip board for parents to sign their children in and out of the program. All posting are posted and visible by the entrance of the program.
LPA and Site Director inspected the center for Health and Safety Hazards. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water on the premises. Per the Site Director, there are no firearms or weapons in the center. Adequate first aid supplies are available. All cleaning supplies and other potentially harmful items are stored inaccessible to the children. Per Director, there are no medication on site at this time. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free from loose, sharp or pointed parts. Children's restrooms are in working order with adequate supplies. There are separate restrooms on site for adults.
Facility provides morning and afternoon snacks. Drinking water is provided indoor and outdoor by children's individual water bottles.
LPA and Site Director also toured the outdoor play area for Health and Safety Hazards. LPA observed outdoor equipment is in good condition, free from loose, sharp or pointed parts. The play structure appears to be age appropriate for children in care. Areas under slides and other climbing equipment is adequately cushioned. Last Emergency Drill was conducted on 01/16/2025 and properly logged.
During today's visit, a random sample of children's files were reviewed. Children's files contain emergency contact information, required licensing forms and immunization record.
On this day, LPA also reviewed staff files. Staff files have proof of education/training, required licensing forms and immunization record. Based on file review, staff has the initial training for Pediatric CPR & First Aid but have not renew since expired. A Type B violation has been issued on this day for not having at least one staff certified for Pediatric CPR & First Aid present at facility. The violation poses a potential health and safety risk to children in care in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, see LIC 809D.
