25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Cuiling LI (Linda), and her helper, All adults had fingerprint clearance. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to the licensee. The facility had seven children included two infants napping with a helper present upon LPA's arival. The licensee was a primary Chinese Speaker. The Licensee owned and lived in the 2 stories single-family house with her husband and her daughter The facility was called " SUNNY HOUSE DAYCARE". The operation hours were Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. The daycare areas were the entire lower level that was including the kitchen/dining area, two rooms (playroom and nap room), and backyard The off-limit areas were the entire upper level and a garage. LPA discussed with the licensee cannot use the upper level for any daycare purpose because it was the off-limit area. The licensee needs to get approval from CCL for any area they want to use for daycare purposes. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were either locked or made inaccessible to the children. The licensee installed Soft cushioning on the entire daycare area to prevent injury. Gates were installed at the daycare and nap room entrances. All lower kitchen cabinets and drawers were either latched or free of harmful items in them. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, and children’s furniture that were in good condition and repaired for children. The facility had a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher and first aid supplies available in the facility. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were not tested due to children napping during the inspection. All electrical outlets were either covered or had a built-in blockage. . Children’s bathroom was clean and free of harmful objects. The lower bathroom sink cabinet was free of harmful objects. Some Cubbies were available for children to store their belongings by the daycare entrance. Cots and cribs were used for napping. Boosters were available for feeding only. The outdoor play area was completely fenced. Soft cushioning was installed on the entire ground to prevent injury. The facility had a play house, slide structure, ride-on-toys, and some other age-appropriate outdoor toys available for children. Per the licensee, there were no guns, no weapons, and no pets in the house. Fire drill has been conducted 2 times a year and logged it. The facility has provided breakfast, AM/PM snacks, lunch, and dinner to the children. Per the licensee, there were no children on special medication. Licensee, her husband, and her helper had current CPR/ First Aid and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training. All required postings were posted. LPA reviewed the children's and staff files and obtained a copy of the current children's roster from the licensee during the inspection.
This report and notice of the site visit were discussed with the licensee and must be made available to the public upon request. A Child Care Provider's Guide to Safe Sleep was provided to the licensee during the inspection. Notice of site visit was provided.
