Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Mei Juan Li, and her son-in-law, YaoXiong Li, and explained the purpose of the visit to them. There were four preschoolers with the licensee and napping in the playroom upon LPA's arrival. The facility is called Qi Qi Daycare, and the operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. The licensee's daughter and Son-In-Law owned this single-family house. The licensee lives in this house with her four grandchildren. All adult residents have fingerprint clearance. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, a dining room, and an open kitchen on the upper level. The lower level has a playroom, 1 bathroom, garage, and backyard with patio. The daycare areas are the entire lower level except for the garage, & backyard with Patio. The off-limit areas were: the entire upper level, the kitchen area in the playroom the stairs, & garage. LPA toured and inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order, the temperature and lighting were adequate, and toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning materials, and children’s furniture that were in good condition and repair available for children. All electrical outlets and sharp corners were covered. There were the fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, a working telephone, a 2in1 smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies available in the daycare. The children's bathroom was clean and free of harmful objects. The facility provides breakfast, AM/PM snacks, lunch, and dinner to the daycare children. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. The licensee installed gates at the stairway to the backyard. The licensee installed the rubber mats on the entire ground as soft cushioning to prevent injury. There was a 4 ft fence installed at the patio. There were some ride-on toys, playhouses, climbing structures, and outdoor toys available for children. The licensee installs a gate at the main daycare entrance to prevent children from accessing the off-limit areas. Cribs and cots were used for napping. Per the licensee, there were no children on special medication. The licensee had no guns, weapons, or pets in the house. The facility has conducted the disaster drill 2 times a year and logged. LPA reviewed the children's file and obtained a copy of the current children's roster during the inspection. The facility posted the required postings by the main entrance. The facility had Family Child Care Insurance that will expire on 8/2024. The licensee had current CPR/First Aid Training and Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training that will expire in 2025.
