Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Farhan Bashir-Tariq met with Director, Amada Narvaez, for an annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there were 39 children with 9 teachers and the Director. Facility is operating within the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 8 AM to 5:30 PM. Facility runs the day care program in 3 classrooms. LPA and Director inspected the facility indoors and outdoors for Health and Safety Hazards.
LPA inspected the kitchen area and observed menus were posted on the refrigerator door. All poisons and chemical were stored in the kitchen cabinet under the sink. Access to kitchen has been barricaded with a baby gate from the classroom side and with a locked door on the other side. The kitchen appeared clean and sanitary and the food was orderly and properly stored. Per Director there are no firearms or weapons on the premises. Per Director, there are no bodies of water on the premises. The facility is equipped with multiple carbon monoxide detectors and fully charged fire extinguishers that meet minimum size requirements. Facility has a fire protection system installed in the building. The classrooms were clean and orderly. LPA observed a sufficient amount of learning materials and age appropriate furniture that were available to the children. The bathroom appeared clean and sanitary. Trash receptacles had tight fitting lids in well repair.
LPA observed drinking water was available to the children in play yard. The outdoor play yards were free from hazards. LPA observed sufficient amount of cushioning around the climbing structure.
Children records did have admission agreements available for review as well as current immunization records. Parents’ rights notifications slip, and personal rights slips were signed and contained in the file. LPA observed current first aid/CPR certification on file for at least one teacher present on this day. All personnel files contained immunization records and proper education units.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA collected a copy of children's roster. Per facility's record, last emergency drill was conducted in July 2019. LPA reminded the Director that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a child care facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles. LPAs observed the record of immunization for 3 of the staff present today.
LPA reviewed AB 1207 with the director. As of January 1, 2018, all staff is required to complete Mandated Reporter Training every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com. LPA observed the completion certificates in staff files.
LPA encouraged the director to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. Facility can also email at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates.

>No deficiencies were cited today under Title 22 Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations.

This report and rights to comment and appeal were discussed with Licensee. This report must be available in the facility for public review. Notice of site visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit.
