25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the licensee, Sandy Chow, and a helper who has fingerprint clearance. LPA explained the purpose of the inspection to her. There were 6 children that included 2 infants and 4 preschoolers with a helper present. Licensee owns this 2 stories single family house with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, living room & dining room on the upper level; family room, 1 bedroom, 1 bath, garage, and backyard on the lower level. Licensee lives in the house with her husband, her 2 children who are minor, and her mother. All adults have fingerprint clearances. The facility is called My Little Sunshine and the operation hours are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The daycare areas are entire lower level & patio, garage, and backyard. Off-limit areas are entire upper level, & a garage. LPA inspects the facility for health and safety hazard. The house was clean and in order, temperature and lighting were adequate. and the toxins and harmful objects were made inaccessible to the children. All lower kitchen cabinets and drawers were latched or free of harmful objects. All toxins and harmful objects were locked and made inaccessible to daycare children. There was a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working telephone, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and first aid supplies available in daycare areas. . There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material, Nursery Gym, and children’s furniture available for children. Gates were used at the stairway, the main entrance of daycare, All electrical outlets are covered. Children's bathroom was clean and free of hazard. The lower bathroom cabinet is latched. Cubbies with children names were available for children to store their own belongings by the main entrance. Licensee installs some carpets to the floor as soft cushioning to prevent injury. All sharp corners were covered. A licensee provides breakfast, lunch, & snacks to daycare children. Outdoor play area and patio were completely fenced. The fence was up to 5 feet tall. There were plenty of outdoor toys, water table, climbing structure and ride on toys available to children. The licensee has no guns, weapons or pets at home. The facility conducts disaster drill monthly and logged. The licensee had current CPR/First Aid Training. LPA reviewed the children and staff file, 15 minutes nap log and obtained a copy of the children roster. The facility posted all the required postings. Per licensee, there was no children on special medication.
