Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) Luis J. Gomez met with Acting Director, Ana Toba. Ana stated the director is out on maternity leave. The purpose of the visit was explained and is for an unannounced annual inspection. This is a Spanish immersion, Montossori preschool program which operates at the lower level of St. Aiden’s Episcopal Church. Program utilizes a primary classroom, napping room and outdoor playground. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 7:30am- 6:00pm. Present is the acting director and 2 staff supervising 13 children. Facility is within capacity limits of the license. All children present are signed-in. LPA Gomez toured facility with director and inspected for health and safety hazards.

At 2:22pm on October 10, 2019 LPA inspected the primary classroom. LPA observed classroom is clean, organized and have plenty of age appropriate wooden toys, crafts and books for the children. Classroom has several child size tables and chairs. Napping mats and cots are available for children. All trash cans and outlets are properly covered. There has acceptable ventilation and natural lighting. Classrooms have a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fully charged fire extinguisher (3A40BC) located in the kitchen. First aid kit and 2 emergency disaster supply kits available in the office and by the door.

At 2:32pm on October 10, 2019 LPA inspected outdoor play area and children’s restroom for safety hazards and dangerous conditions. Outdoor play area is equipped with a two climbing structures, soft rubber cushioning and a sandbox. Outdoor play area is free of debris, hazards or dangerous conditions. Children’s bathroom is equipped with 3 toilets, 2 sinks and adequate supplies for the children. At 2:45pm on October 10, 2019 LPA observed a dishwasher in the children’s bathroom.

At 3:25pm on October 10, 2019 LPA reviewed children’s files and facility roster. Staff CPR/ 1^st aid certification is current expiring: 10/21/2020

Emergency drills are done monthly, with the last drill conducted on, 8/28/2019 , properly logged. LPA Gomez observed all required licensing information is properly posted in the facility. Acting director stated children bring there own lunches, and program provides 2 snacks daily.

Acting director, Ana Toba was reminded that as of September 1, 2016, a person may not be employed or volunteer at a child care facility unless he or she has been immunized against influenza, pertussis, and measles or qualifies for an exemption pursuant to Health and Safety code 1596.7995 and 1597.662.

Acting director, Ana Toba was informed about the Provider Information Notices (PINs) on CCLD website.

Based on today's inspection, no deficiencies were observed in the areas evaluated according to the Title 22 Division 12 Ca. Code of Regulations. Exit interview was conducted with acting director Ana Toba, and her signature of this form acknowledges receipt of these documents.
