25 | On May 22, 2023 at approximately 8:15am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Catrina Quimbo conducted an unannounced, case management inspection to Cielito Lindo Montessori School. LPA met with director, Lucila Preciado, and explained the purpose of the visit. At start of LPA's visit, children were arriving and being signed into facility. Present during LPA's visit included 2 teaching staff and 19 children. Facility is operating within capacity limits and ratio during LPA's visit. Teaching staff present have fingerprint clearance on file.
On May 1, 2023, director informed LPA a new play structure will be installed on play ground in outdoor area. Director submitted required documents to department, requesting approval of play structure.
LPA observed play structure to be located in outdoor area. Previous climbing structure with monkey bars have been removed. New play structure includes slides, stairs, climbing wall, and benches that was observed to be age appropriate. There is resilient padding underneath entire structure. LPA observed play structure can sustain weight of an adult. LPA observed a sign on play structure that states designated age that can use structure is ages 2 years to 5 years old.
Director plans to clean play structure with water hose, to maintain cleanliness and keep in proper working condition. LPA did not observe any loose articles, debris or hazardous materials in outdoor area. LPA reminded director children must always be supervised when using play structure and when in the outdoor area.
During visit, LPA and director discussed lead testing requirements. Per director, facility's lead testing had been completed. Director provided copy of LIC9276, LIC9275, LIC999, and results of lead level results. Per documents received, lead levels do not exceed 5.5 ppb.
LPA approved use of new play structure as of this date. No deficiencies were issued during LPA's visit.
Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to maintain posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
