Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Farhan Bashir-Tariq performed an announced Case Management Inspection at the facility as of today 7/9/19. The purpose of the inspection was to measure the facility for capacity increase, which was explained. Present at the inspection was Director Victoria Lam and Andy Wong . Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM. This facility has applied for a capacity increase from capacity of 50 to capacity of 66. Present there were 34 Children in care with 11 Staff.
LPA inspected the facility for Health and Safety Hazards. There are no pools, spas or any other bodies of water at the facility. Facility has multiple smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fully charged fire extinguishers and a working telephone at the site. All the cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste are in good repair and have proper tight fitted lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. All the materials and surfaces accessible to the children are clean and toxic free. Play yard is free of hazards. All the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts.
LPA measured the facility indoor and outdoor space. Facility has four Rooms: Room #1 (563.2) Sqft, Room #2 (696) Sqft, Room #3 (550.83) Sqft, and Room #4 ( 551.77) Sqft. The total indoor space is 2361.80 sqft, which allows capacity of 66. The outdoor space is 2506.32 Sqft, which allows the capacity of 33. Facility has 7 Sinks and 6 Toilets to be used by children. Facility has a separate restroom for staff at each level. Facility can apply for a waiver for outdoor space.
Department has received the fire clearance from local Fire Department for capacity of 66. Based on the measurements and inspection conducted today, the facility will be approved for capacity of 66.
