25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with two helpers, LingQing Cai & Dai Kai Li, and explained the purpose of the inspection to them. Per ling, the licensee was not at home when LPA arrived. The helper put licensee on the phone with LPA after LPA got into the facility. Per licensee, she was at the dental office with her child; she tried to get back to the facility as soon as possible. The licensee arrived home around an hour later The helpers have fingerprint clearance. There were 10 children with two helpers and napping upon LPA's arrival. Licensee lives in the house with her children (minors) The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, kitchen with adjacent dining area, and living room on the upper level; on the lower level: an in-law with 1 bedroom, food preparation area, bathroom, children’s sinks area (2 small sinks), and backyard. The daycare areas are entire lower level except for a garage. The off-limits areas are entire upper level and a garage. The facility is called Sunny Kids Family DayCare. The facility's operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00AM to 5:30PM. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The house was clean and in order. Temperature and lighting were adequate. All toxins and harmful objects were either locked and made inaccessible to children. There were fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working telephone, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and first aid supplies available. All electrical outlets were covered (the electrical outlets had built in cover or blocker. All sharp corners were covered. Child proof knobs were used at garage entrance,& backyard entrance doors to prevent children access to the off-limit areas. All lower cabinets were free of harmful objects. Per licensee, there were no guns, no weapons and pets at home. Per licensee, facility provides breakfast, AM/PM snacks, lunch and dinner to day care children. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. Soft cushioning was installed the entire ground to prevent injury. There were plenty of the age-appropriate outdoor toys, ride-on-toys, play house, slide, and children's furniture available for children. Licensee and helpers have current CPR/First Aid training & Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training. Per licensee, there were no children on special medication. LPA reviewed the children and staff files, and obtained a copy of the current children roster. The facility conducts the disaster drills at least 2 times a year and logged.
