25 | On March 5, 2020, at 11:20 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with the Director, Yang Yang, for an unannounced annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained and was granted entry to the facility by the Director. The facility is a preschool program, present today are 7 teachers supervising 50 children. The facility is in compliance with the staff/children ratios today. Days and hours of operations for the preschool are from Monday - Friday 7:00 am – 6:00 pm.
At 11:25 am, LPA, along with the Director, inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The center is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed that the facility has two electronic sign-in / out near the entrance for the parent or authorized representative to sign the children in. Per the Director, the parent was provided with a sign/in and out code to use when signing in or out. There are age-appropriate toys and learning materials available for children. All furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharps, loose or pointed parts. LPA observed no pools, spas, or other bodies of water at the facility. All disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, and other items that are dangerous to children are locked and stored inaccessible to children. The facility has a centralized smoke alarm, fully charged fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, and a working telephone at the site. The facility has a total of 4 toilets and 4 sinks for children, and there is a separate toilet for staff usage; all toilets and sinks are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All medications are centrally stored, maintained with the child’s name, and are appropriately dated. The outdoor playground area is in good repair. Play structures are free of any loose parts. Per the Director, the sandbox is inspected daily before children play. The facility has posted the required forms (i.e., License, menus, waivers, Notification of Parent’s Rights, Notification of Personal Rights, Car Seat Law, and Emergency Disaster Plan).
Per the Director, there are no firearms, weapons, or pets at the center; the center provides breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for children. The center has a water dispenser for children to use indoor, and for outdoor, staff will bring water pitchers and cups for children. The food preparation area is clean, organize, and foods store appropriately. Sleeping cots are appropriately stored. Per the Director, children blankets return to the parent to wash every Friday, and parents bring back on Monday. |
