25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Sunny Qin and Head Teacher, Majo Chan (Siu Ching Chan). The purpose of the inspection was explained to them. There were 18 children that included 7 infants and 11 toddlers with 6 staff present. All staff were fingerprinted. The daycare entrance is on the side of the building. The children enter the facility from the play yard area during the Pandemic. The infant program is run in the back of the building. The infant program has Toddler Option along with it. The area for the infant program is separated by the shelves and gate. There is a nap room with cribs available in the back of the building. The back of the building is broken into 2 areas (Infant and toddler)by the shelves. The licensee has installed the soft cushioning to the floor to prevent injury in both areas. There were plenty of age-appropriate toys, and books available for the children, Boosters and swings were available for feeding only, Right amount of cubbies with children's names available for children to store their belongings. All electrical outlets were covered,. Cribs (Infant) and flip open couch/sleepers (Toddler) available for infants and toddlers for napping. The children who are 12 months old or younger brought their own food to the center daily. The facility provided meals to the rest of the children daily. The milk and food were inspected during the inspection. The food-preparation area was inspected,. There was a food waste garage can with tide lid. The children's bathroom was located on the right side by the back door. It has a toilet, one urinal and a sink. There was a diaper changing table available in the bathroom. The infant program has to share the play yard with the preschool program by schedule with a playground waiver.Per licensee, there were 2 children on special mediation during the inspection. The LPA inspected the medication and required documents. Gates were installed near the back door and the entrance to the Preschool area to prevent children access to the off-limit areas. Staff and children files were reviewed during the inspection, LPA also obtained a copy of the current children's roster from the licensee during the inspection, LPA also checked the 15 minutes check log during the inspection, The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. There were age-appropriate play structures, slides, and ride-on-toys available for children. At least one staff had current CPR/First Aid training. The fire, earthquake and lock down drills have been conducted every 4 months and logged. All required postings were posted.
