25 | On May 12, 2022 at 8:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cowan met with director, Zoe Paul, for a 1 Year Required Inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, in the facility are director, 3 staff, and 9 children in care. Facility is operating within its capacity, and facility is in compliance with staff / child ratio on this day. Facility operates day care Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 05:00 PM M - Th, and 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
With director, LPA inspected the day care rooms. LPA observed facility has smoke detector installed, carbon monoxide detector, fully charged fire extinguisher, and working telephone on site. All cleaning solutions, poisons and other chemicals dangerous to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards.
There are first aid supplies available in the classroom. All bathrooms are in working condition. All storage containers for solid waste fitted lids. All food is stored properly to avoid contamination. Facility has a sufficient amount of cribs and sleeping matts available. Food preparation area is free of litter. Facility uses building courtyard for play area. There is water available on the yard as well as in the classroom. At 9:49 AM, LPA observed infant under 12 months sleeping in a position other than their back. This is a potential risk to children in care. Type B violation is issued for this deficiency.
