Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced required annual inspection today. LPA met with the Site Director, Karen Tran. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 53 children with 12 teachers present. Facility’s Regular Operation hours are Monday to Friday from 07:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Staff have fingerprint clearance through the San Francisco United School District. The preschool program runs in classrooms Pre-K, TK, Kindergarten room, Preschool #1 & #2, and Discovery Preschool #1 & #2. LPA toured and inspected the facility for health and safety hazard. The facility was clean and in order. Temperature and lighting were adequate in each classroom. All toxins and harmful objects were locked or made inaccessible to children in each classroom. Classrooms had age appropriate toys and equipment that were in good repair. There were 2 separate bathrooms available for staff. The children’s bathrooms with toilets, and separate sinks available in each room. The discovery Preschool #1 & 2 shared a bathroom with 3 toilets and a big sink with 3 faucets between rooms. The bathrooms were maintained clean, in good repair and with adequate supplies. The facility had the waste basket with tight-fitting covers for the solid waste and were in good repair. Cleaning products and Toxins were maintained inaccessible to children. Medications were store properly in each classroom and made inaccessible from children in care. There were 3 children on special medication. LPA reviewed the required form for the medication during the inspection. Isolation area was in the office with the use of the staff bathroom if needed. There were a plenty of age-appropriate toys, books, learning material and equipment, and children’s furniture available for children in care and in good repair. Drinking water was available in each classroom. Each child had his own water bottle with his name. The facility also had the paper or plastic cups were available for the children who have no water bottle. All the lower cabinets were either locked or free of harmful objects in each classroom. Cots were used for napping in each classroom. Parents take the blankets home to wash every Friday, and then bring the blankets back the following school day. Sick children will be separated from the group and kept in the front office area while waiting for their parents to pick up. The facility provides Lunch and AM/PM snacks to the children. All the food is cooked on site daily. The onsite kitchen was inspected. It was clean and free of harmful objects. Lunch menu was posted in each classroom and lobby. The facility also emails the monthly Lunch menu to the parents. Outdoor play yard was completely fenced. The Outdoor yard was clean and free of hazards. There were 3 outdoor play yards available for the children. There were plenty of the age appropriate toys, play house, and play structures with soft cushioning underneath to absorb falls. First Aid Kit and Emergency supplies were available stored in each classroom and made inaccessible to children. At least one staff had current CPR/FIrst Aid training certificate available for review during the inspection. The certificate will expire in 9/2021. Some of the Children files were reviewed during the inspection. LPA also obtained a copy of the current children roster during the inspection. Some staff had completed the Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207). The certificates were reviewed during the inspection. The facility had hand sanitizer, Thermometer, and disinfectant available in the daycare area to prevent COVID19. All required postings were posted.
