Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced annual inspection today. LPA met with an Assistant Site Director, Rebecca Garcia. Another Site Director, Isabel Heredia (Michelle Heredia) arrived to the facility during the inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained to her. There were 14 children with 3 staff present upon arrival. A child had arrived later during the inspection. All Staff have fingerprint clearance. The facility's COVID19 operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM. The facility was granted an Outdoor Scheduled Usage Waiver . The outdoor play yard is used by schedule. LPA inspected the facility for health and safety hazards. The facility was clean and in order. The temperature and lighting were adequate. There were plenty of the age-appropriated toys,books, learning material, and children's furniture available for children. The furniture, toys, and play structure were in good condition. There were right amount of cubbies available by the main entrance for the children to store their own belongings. The facility had the individual bag to store the children's bedding and mats with each child's name on it by the main entrance. The facility installed the gate at the main entrance, between the classrooms, bathroom entrance, and the entrance to the play yard to prevent the children access to the off-limit areas. The facility had first aid supplies available in the center. All electrical outlets were covered. There were 2 toilets and 3 sinks available in the center, The facility serves the drinking water in water pitcher. the children bring their own water cups to the center daily. The facility provides AM/PM snacks to the children. The facility doesn't provide lunch to the children. The children bring their own lunches to the center daily. The facility has conducted the fire and earthquake drills every 6 months and logged. Per Rebecca, there were 2 children on special medication. LPA inspected the medication and documents during the inspection,. The outdoor play yard was completely fenced. The facility installed the soft cushioning underneath the climbing structure to prevent injury. There were plenty of the age-appropriate toys, climbing structure, sandbox, and see-saw available for the children. The children bring their own water bottle to the play yard whenever they play out there. LPA reviewed the staff and children files during the inspection LPA also obtained a copy of the current children roster from the facility during the inspection. The facility had the hand sanitizers, touchless Thermometer, and disinfectants available by the main entrance and classrooms. Those items were made inaccessible to the children in the facility.
