25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pandora Huffman-Smith met with the applicant, Noushin Mofakham, today for a pre-licensing inspection. Also present is the site director and financial manager. The applicant is requesting a capacity of 60 children (48 preschool ages 2-6 and 12 toddlers ages 18-36 months). The facility will operate Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The facility was inspected today, indoor and outdoor, for health and safety hazards and measured to calculate capacity.
Indoor: There are 5 areas for child care (Classroom A, B, Atelier, and Piazza/Town Square) which will be used for preschool children and (Classroom C) for toddlers. The areas measure a total of 2714 square feet allowing for a capacity of 77 children. The facility appears to be clean, safe and equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, first aid kits, emergency supplies, toys and other equipment for children. There is also a kitchen for food preparation, a staff lounge, and directors office with an attached meeting/conference room. The facility is furnished and all equipment appears to be safe and in good condition. There is a bathroom between preschool classrooms A and B that is equipped with 3 toilets, a water table with 3 faucets, and 2 troth style sinks with 2 faucets in each. There is a second bathroom in the toddler classroom that is equipped with 1 toilet and a troth style sink with 2 faucets. There is a changing table in the toddler bathroom and is within arms reach of a sink for diaper changing. There is an additional troth sink in the toddler classroom with 2 faucets. There is an additional sink between preschool classroom B and the atelier and another sink between the preschool bathroom and classroom A. Total sinks (14) total toilets (4). There are 2 additional bathrooms in the front portion of the facility for staff usage. Classrooms will have pitchers and cups to provide drinking water to children. Isolation for ill children will be either in the staff lounge or the meeting/conference room which is adjacent and connected to the directors office. One of the staff bathrooms will be used for ill children, if needed, until parent arrives for pick up. All toxins and other hazardous items will be stored in the children's bathroom that is inaccessible to children. There is also a janitorial closet for additional cleaning supplies. Medications will be stored either in the director's office or the kitchen if refrigeration is required.
