Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Mok conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year inspection and met with the Regional Director, Natalie Larsen, and Business Manager, Rebecca Mauricio.. The purpose of the inspection was explained to them. There are 38 infants and 14 staff present today. Staff to child ratio was met today. All adults had fingerprint clearance. The center used an electronic sign in/out system that was inspected during the inspection. There were no bodies of water on the premises. Per staff, there were no firearms or weapons at the center. All cleaning supplies and toxins were locked or inaccessible to the children. All solid waste storage bins are secured with tight fitting lids. There was a variety of age appropriate toys and materials, including cribs. Napping equipment (cots) used in the center meets regulation requirements. LPA did not observe any baby walkers present in the center. Changing tables were within arms reach of a sink. Children brought their own food and water bottles to the facility. The facility has provided AM/PM snacks only. All water bottles were labeled with the child's name. Parents wash/sterilize the bottles at home at the end of each day. LPA and Regional Director also toured the outdoor play area for Health and Safety Hazards. LPA observed outdoor equipment was in good condition, free from loose, sharp or pointed parts. Outdoor equipment appeared to be age- appropriate for children in care. The emergency drill has been conducted monthly, and properly logged. A random sample of children's files were reviewed and found to have emergency identification information and medical assessments. In the children’s files, all had current immunization and a copy of Parent's Rights. In the staff files reviewed, all had the verification of meeting the educational requirements; verification of the required staff immunization, or proof of immunity, and staff have the required mandated child abuse reporting training as compliant with AB1207. At least one staff have current Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Facility has posted all the required licensing forms in a prominent accessible location. LPA obtained a copy of the current Children's roster from the licensee during the inspection. LPA inspected the diaper changing logs during the inspection. Facility provided Incidental Medical Services (IMS) to the children. A review of storage of medication, equipment and supplies are adequately stored and logged.
