25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van met with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Carlos Balzaretti for a random annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and was granted entry to the facility by CFO. This facility operates in a large classroom on the lower level, and the operation hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 Am to 5:00 Pm. The Director, Sandra Balzaretti arrived during the inspection. The facility is currently closed for summer break and will be resumed on July 5.
LPA, along with the CFO, inspected the indoor and outdoor for health and safety hazards. There are no pools, spas, or other bodies of water at the facility. The facility has a fully charged fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements, a smoke detector, and a carbon monoxide detector (CO) in the facility. The facility is adequately furnished with age-appropriate toys, furniture, and learning materials. All cleaning solutions, poisons, and other dangerous chemicals to the children are stored inaccessible to the children. LPA observed that the unused electrical outlets have covers installed. The facility has a sufficient amount of sleeping mats. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. Separate staff bathrooms are available. All storage containers for solid waste bins have a suitable tight-fitted lid on top. Per the CFO, during the COVID 19 pandemic, the children brought their water bottles from home. However, the facility also has a water pitcher available for children in case they forgot their bottle. Per CFO, the facility does not provide meals to the children. Outdoor play area inspected for health and safety hazards; areas around and under climbing equipment are cushioned with wood chips. Adequate first aid supplies are available. The facility has posted all the required licensing forms in a prominent, accessible location.
