32 | The facility submitted and obtained a permit for designated time and space playground usage from SF Recreation Park to use the following location as an alternative children’s playground: Parque Ninos Lawn and Rolph playground. The park was inspected and meets the requirements for the open space waiver. Children will walk to the park. Portable shade will be used in the facility outdoor area when children are present. The outdoor area is enclosed by a fence at least 4 ft. tall, and was observed to be clean, safe, and equipped with toys that are age-appropriate for children. There is no sandbox in each playground, climbing structures, or slides at the playground. Woodchips are used on the Main Preschool playground for cushioning. There are age-appropriate toys in good condition in the playground made accessible for children to use. Storage room in each classroom will remain closed and locked when children are present. LPA reminded the Director to ensure ratio and supervision are observed at all times. The facility will conduct and log fire drills once every six months, and the log will be available upon request. There is an elevator in the building, and it will not be used for children during the hours of care. All stairs in the building are gated for outdoor safety purposes.
The following items were reviewed as part of today’s visit: Record keeping for staff, children, and facility records, care and supervision of the children, child discipline procedures – staff will use positive discipline and logical consequences. Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Medication Policies, Isolation of Sick Children, Napping Requirements, Food Service, Transportation-none provided, Parents Rights, and Reporting Requirements.
This facility will provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage area for medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed forms that will be used. An electronic copy of this three-page report was emailed to Christina Maluenda Marchiel. Applicants were asked to review the report and return a signed copy of the report to LPA Haydee Caliboso. COVID-19 Self-assessment guide was received and reviewed today with the Director.
Based on available square footage, sinks, and toilets, LPA Haydee Caliboso will recommend licensure of this facility for a maximum capacity of 96 children. The following is required prior to licensure:
· Obtain fire clearance from SF Fire Department.
· Outdoor schedule rotation for outdoor use.
The following is required for proof of correction:
· A proof of photo of portable shade for outdoor use.
· A proof of photos of gated stairs.
· Obtain new permits from SF Parks and Rec for the new facility address.
