On 12/20/2021 at 10:26 M Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeevun Birk-Miller conducted an unannounced complaint investigation inspection and met with Director, Arianna Martinez. The purpose of the inspection was to deliver the complaint finding for the above allegation. During the course of the investigation the LPA conducted interviews with the Director, staff, parent, and children. LPA also conducted an oberservation of nap time. It was alleged that Staff #1 (S1) had placed a blanket over the head of Child #2 (C2) during nap time and C1 had difficulty breathing. It was stated in an interview with staff that S1 laid the blanket down and continued to make their rounds, but returned to the child when they heard them. They adjusted the blanket and consoled the child. Interviews with four of four staff and two of two children did not indicate any concerns regarding nap time or staff conduct. Based on the information obtained throughout the course of this investigation the above allegation could not be substantiated or dismissed. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the finding is UNSUBSTANTIATED. An exit interview was conducted with the Director. Notice of Site Visit was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days.
