Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mariya Melnichuk met with Director, Jennifer Dalen to deliver the findings of the complaint investigation regarding the above allegations.

During the course of the investigation, LPA Melnichuk conducted interviews, and obtained information pertaining to the allegations. It was alleged that staff handled daycare children in rough manner, yelled at day care children, and are not properly trained to meet children’s needs. Interviews conducted determined that staff are trained to redirect children by talking with them about their behavior and on their eye level. Most Interviews and observations explained that teachers have a positive approach and are mindful and communicative towards the children even when being stern.

Teachers will also communicate with parents based on the needs of the child. Based on a review of the handbook and staff training policies, the school tries to accommodate reasonable needs of children and if the needs exceed the resources available, the facility may recommend alternatives to better suit the child’s needs.

Based on the information obtained throughout the course of this investigation the above allegations could not be substantiated or dismissed. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the finding is UNSUBSTANTIATED.

Exit interview was conducted. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
