Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with Director, Nancy Cook, for a random annual inspection. Purpose of the inspection was explained. Present, there are 76 children with 16 staff and the director. Facility is operating with in the capacity and in compliance with staff child ratio on this day. Facility operate day care from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 4 PM.

With director, LPA inspected the day care classrooms: Rooms 2, 3, 4, 5, and 5 for preschool age and Room 1 and 6 for Toddlers. Facility has fire extinguisher in each classroom. Facility has smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and fire alarms installed. All of the cleaning solutions and other chemicals that are dangerous to the children are stored on high shelves and are inaccessible to the children. Facility has age appropriate furniture. Furniture is steady and in good repair. Facility floor is in good repair and free of any hazards. Each classroom has separate toilets and sinks available for children. All toilets, hand washing facilities are in working condition with proper sanitation in place. All storage containers for solid waste are in good repair and have proper lid on top. Facility has drinking water available for children. Facility separate play for preschool age children and for toddlers. Play yard is free of hazards. All of the play structures are steady, in good repair and free of any loose parts. There are wood chips under the play structures to prevent any fall injuries. There is shaded area available for children in play yard.

LPA reviewed the facility records. Facility has all of the required documents posted and are visible for public. There are menus posted in each classroom and are visible to the child's authorized representative. LPA observed that facility has sign in / out record with full legal signatures in each classroom. Facility has well maintained roster available on site and LPA received a copy. LPA reviewed random children's and staff's files. LPA observed facility has record of names, addresses and telephone numbers of each child's authorized representative. LPA observed facility has immunization record of all children in care.

LPA observed all staff members has record of valid CPR card in file until January 2022. LPA observed the fire and emergency drill log. Per log, last drill was conducted on February 26. 2020. LPA observed facility has record of staff’s required immunization on file. LPA observed facility has record completion certificate of Mandated Reporter Training and director is aware that training must be renewed every two years. The training can be obtained online at www.mandatedreporterca.com.

LPA encourages the director to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and new updates. Licensee can also email at childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the email list for the updates.

No deficiencies are cited today. The copy of this report is reviewed and provided to the director. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days.
