25 | On 5/4/2020 at 12:05 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christopher Jackson, conducted a Case Management Tele-inspection to observe an additional playground structure and area located on the grounds of the First Baptist Christian School. LPA met with Alma Tacderan. The tele-inspection was conducted using FaceTime.
The facility contacted the Sacramento South Child Care Licensing office to inquire about adding a play area not currently on the license. During today's tele-inspection LPA conducted a tour of the outside play area. LPA observed a built in metal play structure that was utilizing bark as the substrate under the equipment. The structure was equipped with four slides, three side climbable entrance points and one stair way onto the structure. During the tour LPA did not observe any documentation on the structure noting the age ranges specified for use of the equipment. During the tele-ispection, LPA observed a yellow dome climbing structure. The director stated that the children would not be allowed to use that specific piece of equipment.
The open grass area and the basketball courts were also included in the tour during today's tele-inspection. LPA observed four bolts sticking up at the bottom of the basketball hoop. The director stated they are willing to cover the bolts that were sticking up with foam pieces to ensure the safety of the students. The large open grass area had one large tree in the middle of the area. The grass area was very long and open. LPA discussed with the director about the possibility to set boundaries around the area to ensure visual supervision of the children was maintained at all times. The director stated it would be fine to set boundary areas for the children.
LPA asked the director to provide additional pictures of the play structure, basketball pole and grass area to sent up to the Licensing Program Manager (LPM) for further review. The tele-inspection concluded at 12:20 PM. LPA stated the report would be discussed with the LPM and follow up with program would need to be provided. |
